Last week, The View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walked off the stage after a heated discussion with Bill O’Reilly about the Ground Zero Mosque.

O’Reilly is against the Mosque.  While Behar and Goldberg feel that Muslims have a right to erect the Mosque.

Personally, I don’t think the Mosque should be built at the intended location.  And, if I had lost a loved one on 9/11, I am sure that I would feel even more strongly and adamant about the Mosque not being built near Ground Zero.

However, opinions are not the issue.  O’Reilly is wrong, as usual, in his approach.  Yes, a group of Muslims were responsible for the horrific tragedy that occurred on 9/11.  But, as The View hosts tried to interject, those terrorists were from an extremist sect.  All Muslims should, by no means, be lumped in with insane radicals.

I know that O’Reilly is intelligent enough to know that which he says is nasty and wrong.  However, his arrogant, condescending persona sells books and provides for entertaining rhetoric which in turn gets him great ratings.

Then again, emotionally charged arguments and stormings off of the stage doesn’t hurt The View’s publicity efforts either.
