Hooked on Housewives

In On a lighter note on October 15, 2010 at 10:30 pm

I have more guilty pleasure confessions.  I watch The Housewives of Atlanta, New Jersey, DC, New York, and the newest in the series, The Housewives of Beverly Hills.  (I haven’t been able to get into The Housewives of Orange County, though).

These shows keep popping up on the tube, and I just keep on watching them.  I never thought all of the arguing and fighting would be so fascinatingly entertaining.  Yes, I get a kick out of seeing Kim and NeNe battle like two cheetahs in the wild.  And, that Theresa really knows how to throw a table.

But, reality T.V. is nothing new to me; I’m an old school reality show junky.  I remember the first installment of The Real World—the mother of all reality shows.  I was hooked at “the true story of seven strangers, picked to live in a house…”  Although, I’m not a faithful viewer anymore, there will always be a special place in my heart for the show that sparked my “reality” interest.

If there is humor and conflict, I’m watching–The Bad Girls Club and Teen Mom, tooI was even a fan of Flavor of Love and Rock of Love.  Who would’ve thought?

I do have my standards, though.  No, Jersey Shore for me.  Well, I watched a few times.  And, I’ve lost interest in a few others that I’ve watched in the past, like Survivor and Big Brother.

But, give me a little conflict and a whole lot of drama, and I’ll keep on watching my reality T.V.
